The regular montp~y meeting ef the Common Council is called to
order by His Henor Mayer S.D.Heck.
Present:Councilmen:George C.Milias,.Jr.,.Jack Rogers,George A.Martin,
George M. Masen.
Absent: Councilmen: .James Battersby,Nat Heiner.
Minutes of the meetings of September 12th and September 29th are
read and appreved.
Metion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Martin and
carried unanimously that Logan & Fr~zer,certified public accountants,
be empleyed to. audit the City's books and accounts for the fiscal
year,.July 1,1938 to .July 1,1939,fer the sum ef $200.00,quarterly
audits to be made and payment of $50.00 to be made upon completion
of each audit.
A petition signed by seven property ewners is p:-esented requesting
that an alley be opened from First street to Secend Street between
Resanna Street and Hanna Street. This matter is referred to the
Superintendent of Street for further investigation and report.
The city Attorney reperts on his investigation of a request for
an alley from Seventh Street to. Eighth Street between Eigleberry
Street and Church Street. No action is taken.
A letter l'sread. f'rom;Mr...Geccmge A.Doan calling attention to
certain sanitary conditions at 71 North Ghurch Street. The Mayor
instructs the Superintendent of Sewers to investigate.
Mr.Sidney S.Johnson now appears before the Council en behalf ef
1~..John Herzig,723 North Monterey Street,te request some action be
taken to. stop trucks from parking in front of his place of bum ness.
The Clerk is instructed to. cODllilunicate with the Division of Highways
to ascertain their atti tiude teward.. :, eliminating the lateral
parking line in front of this property.

warrants ordered drawn on the Treasurer.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Martin and
carried unanimously that the reports of City officers be accepted
am placed on file.
fu~.John Roffinella appears before the Council to discuss a sewer
connection for his home on North Chestnut Street. l~.Roffinella
states that he will investigate the possibilities of installing a
septic tank on his property.
