This regular monthly meeting ot the Common Council is called to
order by His Honor Mayor S.D.Heck.
Present:Councilmen:George C.Milias,Jr.,Jack Rogers,James
Battersby,George A.Martin,Beorge M.Mason,Nat Heiner. Absent:Council-
men: None.
Minutes of meeting of October 3rd and October l7th,l93~,are read
and approve d .
A petition signed by~six persons,presented by representa.1ves of
the Glad Tidings Tabarnacle ,asking that their names be removed from
a petition filed October 3,l93~,is read.
Upon advise from the City Attorney the Mayor orders the petition
filed.
A letter fran the Community Chest,ask1ng that the City make its
annual donation,is read.

Motion by Councilman Heiner, seconded by Counc ilman Martin and
carried unanimously that the regular donation of $200.00 be made
to the Community Chest, the donation to be paid when requested by
the Chest officials.
A lettel' fro;m Lc>gan :and Frazer ,city auditors, is read~,:stat ing that
the quarterly audit had been completed.
A letter from the Division of Highways requesting the passage of
an ordinance making it unlawful to pass over the double white line
on Monterey street,is read.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by Councilman Rogers and
carried unanimously that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare
an. ordinance making it unlawful for vehicles to pass over the
double white line on Monterey street.
councilman Milias discusses the purchase of Traffic Officer Norman
Goodrich's motorcycle.
Motion by Councilman Milias,seconded by <<ouncilman Heiner and
carried unanimously that the City purchase the Traffic Officer's
motorcycle for the sum of $500.00 and that the Traffic Officer's
salary be set at $l55.00 per month.
Motion by Councilman Rogers,seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that advertisement be made 'for bids for insuran~e,onth8
city's automotive equipment, the advertisement to include the City's
motorcycle and a Non-ownership policy and exclude the Buick car used
by the Police Department.
City Engineer Hanna reports that the necessary papers for the
Fifth and Monterey streets drainage change have been forwarded to
the Division of Highways and the Seventh and Monterp~ Streets change
is in the process of perparation.

~~.R.M.Martin,postmaster,appears before the Council to complain
about flies around thepostoffice and asks that tops be placed on all
garbage cans in the alle7,betwwen Monterey and Eigleberry streets tram
Fourth to Seventh street. The ~Iayor assures Mr.Ivlart1n that action will
be taken on his complaint.
The Mayor announces that 200 gallons of gasoline have been allocated
to each of the oil companies located within the city.
Motion by Councilman Martin,seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried unanimously that bills as presented be allowed and warrants
ordered drawn on t he Treasurer.
