This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called to
order by His Honor Mayor S.D.Heck.
Present:Councilmen:George C.Milias,Jr. ,James Battersby,George M.
Mason,Nat Heiner. Absent:Councilmen:Jack Rogers,George A.Martin.
The matter of the construction of a valley at Seventh and Monterey
streets is discussed.
It is agreed that Howson Brothers be awarded the ~obi;of construct-
ing a valley at Seventh and Monterey streets.
The City Attorney is instructed to draw up specifications for a
new fire truck.
The matter of persons and firms operating in termite control work
within the city Ls discussed. It is agreed that a license fee of
$2.50 per quarter should be charged only in the event no tearing out
or reconstruction work is done by the licensee,but the regular outside
contractors license of $50.00 'per year ,in advance ,shalL be:, p$.ldc ;bY
outside persons or firms who engage in the work of placing foundations
and work of a similar character.
The Clerk is instructed to insert a notice in the local newspaper
calling attention to the provisions of city ordinances with reference
to persons preceding or following fire apparatus,Vlhen such appar$.tus
is answering an alarm.
