Motion by Councilman Martin,seconded by Councilman Battersby that RESOLUTION NO.126 be adopted: 5'72 RESOLUTION NO. 126 RESOLUTION OF TflE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ADOPTING BUDGET AND APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STRJl'ETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE i~l, W~~REAS, a memorandum of agreementthas been presented to be entered into with the State of California in accordance with a project state- ment for expenditure of the 1/4 oent gas tax for the fiscal year 1941 allocated for streets of major importance other than State Highways in the City of Gilroy; and WHEREAS, the oity Council has heard read said agreement in full and is familiar with the oontents thereof; THEREFORE, be it resolved by the city counoil of the City of Gilroy that said projeot statement be and is hereby adopted as the budget of proposed expenditures of the 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for streets of major importance other than state high- ways, and said agreement be and the same is hereby approved and the mayor and the city clerk are direct- ed to sign the same on behalf of said City, said agreement to be binding upon the City upon its ex- ecution by the authorized officials of the State. RESOLUTION NO.127 is presented and read. Motion by Councilman Rogers, s~conded by Councilman Battersby that RESOLUTION NO.127 be adopted. .~ 1 I 57~3 !E~.Q.~U!l.Q.! !.Q. 127 [ I BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the CitY' of Gilroy, that the said City of Gilroy, by and through its Mayor and City Clerk, make and execute the hereto attached Lease Agreement, which Lease Agreement covers premises known as the Gilroy City Auditorium located at the southeast corner of Sixth and Church Streets in Gilroy, Califor.nia. Motion by Councilman Battersby,seconded by Councilman Rogers and carried that the Hollenback Electric Works be authorized to install the necessary conduit for flood-lighting the rear of the Municipal Auditorium, the cost not to exceed ~16.50. A request from.the Southern Pacific Milling Company, 202 South Monterey Street, for a permit to remove a board sidewalk in front of their place 0 f business and replace ita permanent type of sidewalk, is discussed. This matter is referred to the Street Committee for action. The 1~yor now discusses the matter of traffic speed through the city.and states that the officers would use the ensuing four days warning truck and bus drivers after which citations for speeding would be issued. '" The matter of water line extensions on Fourth Street west of the west City Limits, is discussed. This matter is laid over for further discussion. Adjourned subject to the call of the chair. (3.
