This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called to
order by FIis Honor l\"layor George C.Milias ,Jr.
Present: Counc ilmen:George A.Martin,George M.lvIason,J"ack Hogers,
J.H.~entworth. Absent:Councilmen:James Battersby,Nat Heiner.
The matter of the purchase of a motor grader from the Division of
Highways, is discussed.
Motion by Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilman Eason and
carried that a bid of ~~75l.00 plus 3j~ State Sales Tax, be made for
a grader tractor, Austin, 12 foot blade, single drive, powered with
an I.H.C. Model PD-40 diesel engine,front scarifier, light,pneumatic
tires, bid to be submitted to the Division of Highways at Fresno,
California, September 26,1941.
The matter of placing additional toilets in the jail is discussed.
This matter is left in the hands of the Buildings and Grounds Committee

Lotion by Councilman Mason, see onded by Counc ilman Hartin and carrie d
that the sum of ~lr200.00 be donated to the COIl1'11unity Chest,as the City's
contribution to the 1940-41 cmupaign.
