This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called to
order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias,Jr.
Present:Counoilmen:George A.Martin,George M.I~son,Jack Rogers,
Nat Heiner,J.H.Wentworth. Absent:Councilmen:James Battersby.
Resolution No.6 by the Gilroy City Planning Commission, :;dllted-
Oc:tQberHIO,l941, is presented and read; said resolution recommending
that a portion of Lot 3,Block 4 North,Range 1 West, be not changed
from zone "B" to Zone "C".
A communication is read from Byers Brothers, petitioners to the
Gilroy City Planning Commission to change a portion of Lot 3,Blook
4 North,Range 1 West, from Zone "B" to Zone "C", asking that the
petition for re-zoning, as requested by them,be cancelled as of this
date. This communication is ordered placed on file.
Councilman Rogers discusses the parking of vehicles at the inter-
section of Leavesley Road and North Monterey Street, and the danger
involved when large trucks are parked near this intersection. This
matter is left in the hands of the Street Committee for investigation.
Eight applications for the position of City Inspector are presented.
Motion by Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman Heiner and
carried that Carl Weppener,Sr.,be appointed City Inspeotor,with full
Police power, to hold offioe at the pleasure of the lIIta.yor.alld Common
Counc i1.
Motion by Councilman Martin, seoonded by Councilman Wentworth and
carried that the Salary of Carl Weppener,Sr.,be $l75.00 per month
fo~ the combined offioes of City Inspeotor,SuperintendeBt of streets
and Superintendent 01 Sewers, effeotive as of November l,1941.
Motion by Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilman Rogers and
carried that Carroll Wentz be appointed a member of the Gilroy City
Planning Commission for d three year term to expire January 1,1944.
