Minutes 1941/12/10 645 Gilroy,California. December 10,1941. This regular adjourned meeting of the Comraon Council is called to order by His Eonor Mayor Gem'ge C.Milias,Jr. Present: Councilmen George M.11a.son,Jack Rogers,James Battersby,Nat Heiner,J.E.Wentworth. Absent:Councllmen George A.I~rtin. This being the time specified for 'aIling for bids for Fleet Insurance and Non-ownership insurance policy two bids are presented and read: Chesbro and Eustice-$449.30;August A.Piedmont-$56S.0S. Motion by Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman .Wentworth and carried that Chesbro & Eustice be awarded the ]'leet Insurance and Non- Ownership insurance on their bid of $449.30. Mr.E.E.Eustice now appears before the council to discuss a compre- ~ hensive insurance policy covering Public Liability,Fleet insurance and Non-ownership insurance~ Mot ion by Councilman Batte rsby, sec onded by Gounc ilman Rogers and carried that the city enter into a three year program on the basis of a comprehensive insurance policy covering Public Liability and fire, theft,collision and public liability insurance for the city's automobile fleet ani non-ownership insurance, the total premmum to be paid one- third each year. The Mayor discusses measures that have been taken to guad the city reservoir during the present emergency. Councilman Heiner reports that locks have been placed on all doors at the Fire Rouse and a buzzer has been installed and other necessary precautions have been taken. 1/,- Councilman Rogers states that complaints have been made with tespect to interference with radio reception in the vicinity of North Monterey Street,between First Street and the North City Limits. ~he Clerk is instructed to co~aunicate with the Federal Conmronications Commission and ascertain what should be done in regard to this matter. Councilman Reiner discusses the placing of a temporary wooden building 646 on a used car lot on North Monterey Street by Joseph Grant.It is agreed that a temporary permit cannot be granted but the building cauls stand on the present site for 30 days allowing the owner. time to oonstruct a fire-proof building and remove the wooden building. Councilman Mason discusses the use of an auxilliary water supply from the Pappani well on Hecker Pass Highway. No act ion is taken pending further investigation.
