Present:Councilmen George A.Martin,George M.Mason,James Battersby, Nat Heiner, J.B.Wentworth. Absent:Councilmen .Tack Rogers. Minutes of the meeting 0 f April 7th are read and approved. A communication is read fram Logan and Frazer, city auditors, stating that they had completed the audit the city's books and accounts to March 31st and had found everything in good order. the monthly Health report is read and crdered placed on file. The monthly report of the Poundmaster is read and ordered and placed on file. The Clerk is instructed to present this matter to the City Attorney for the purpose of drawing up a suitable ordinance covering thi s request. A bid is presented fram the Gilroy Publishing Company to furnish certain stationary requested by the Gilroy Rationing Board. 662 Motion by Councilman Mason, seconded by Counoilman Heiner and oarried that the bid of the Gilroy Publishing Company to furnish certain stationary to the Gilroy Rationil~ Board, be aocepted at the quoted prioe of $13.35. The matter of purohase of land for use as an airport is now discussed the plan having been presented to the Mayor by a representative of the Civil Aeronautics Board. The 1myor is instructed to ask the President of the Chamber or Commeroe to make an investigation of available land in this vicinity for the Counoil and report to the Council. Applicat ions for transfer 0 f liquor licenses for Fook Low, Anderson and Anderson dba The Willows Restaurant; Ind Eileen Kojan, dba Jack's Plaoe, are presented. No objection is made. Motion by Councilman H~ner, seconded by Councilman Wentworth and carried that members 0 l' the elect ion beards serving for the elect ion held May 4th be paid $6.00 eaoh. It is agreed that property owners be allowed an extension of time un~l N~y 20th to clean weeds from their vacant lots. Motion by Councilman Martin, seoonded by Counc ilman Heiner and carried that bills as presented be allowed and war ran ts cr dered drawn on the Treasurer. Reports of the City Offioer are presented and read. Motion by Councilman Battersby, seconded by Councilman Wentworth and carried that tbs reports 0 f city officers be accepted as read and placed on file. Adjourned subject to the call of the chair. G.
