This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called to
order by EisHonor Mayor GeoIge C.Milias ,Jr.
Present:Councilmen George M.~ason,James Battersby,Nat Heiner,David
V.stout. Absent:Councilmen George A.M.artin,J.H.Wentworth.
Motion by Councilman stout, seconded by Councilman Heiner and carried
that the sum of $10,000.00 be withdrawn from the Water Fund and the
prooeeds thereof be used for the purchase of War Savings Bonds; that
such bonds be of the type known as Series "G" Bonds; that said bonds
be in denominations of the face value each of $l,OOO.OO.

The matter of salaries of city employees is discussed. Cbunuilman
Battersby, chairman of the J,i"inance Cormnittee, is instructed to inter-
view the several cornmi ttee chairmen and sorne of the employees and
report at the next meeting of the council.
The superintendent of Streets re~ests information on the proceedure
necessary to have property owners repair broken and da~ rous side
walks. The Superintendent is advised to have the Oity Attorney draw

up a form letter to be addressed to all property owners whose side-
walks need repairing.
