Absent:Councilmen None, The Mayor states that the purpo se 01' this meeting i8 to hear the reoommendations for chairman 01' the G1lroy Rat10ning Board as decided upon by the ohairman 01' the various panels. General ohairman Rodney Esohenburg reports for the T1re Panel statins the two members reooIDDl8nA that the board. ohair1l8n lylndle their own work. Mr. Esohenburg recommends the appointment Qrt .d.....r Jaok Hines or Forest Rycratt. ... '72B Mr.E.J.Fabbri,ohairman of the Gaaoline Panel reports that his board recommends the appoin~ment of Forest Rycraft,providing he is tree and will aocept the position it offered. MJ:'.Jaok Hines, chairman of the Food Panel states that his board reoommends the appointment of Forest Ryoraft. Mr.Gus Brodersen,chairman of the Price Panel states that his board is unable to deoide on anyone. ! I The Mayor now deolares this meeting to be in exeo.tive session. Motion by Counoilman Heiner, seoonded by Councilman Martin and oarried that Forest Rycraft be appointed General Chairman of the Gilroy Rationing Board. The Mayor now disousses the possibility of permitting the looal army unit Military Police to have a key to the main door of the jail and one cell in the jail to be used for militaty prisoners. The Mayor states that he will discuss this matter with the Commanding Officer of the army unit. Motion by Counoilman Battersby, seoonded by Councilman Stout and carried that three hundred feet of 21 inoh Liberty Crackerjaok Double Jaoket Cotton Rubber Lined Fire Hose ooupled in 50 foot lengtbs,be purchased from ~b. American Rubber Manufacturing Company at their quoted price of $1.25 per foot, said p.rohase to be made under a War Production Board rating of AA-3,granted Nov~ber 1,1943.
