This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is oalled to
order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias,Jr.
Present:Councilmen George A.Martin,George M.Mason,.James Battersby,
.J.H.Wentworth. Absent:Counoilmen Nat Heiner,David V.Stout.
Motion by Councilman Mason, seconded by Councilman Battersby and
carried that Leon Thomas be appointed Police .Judge for the ~eriod
.January 15,1~44 to .January 15,1945 at a salary of $75.00 per month.
The Mayor now discusses the condition of the interdor of Wheeler
Auditorium and states that the Adjutant General of the State of
California and two representatives of the United States Engineers
office inspected the building and have agreed to put the building
back in the condition it was in prior to occupancy by the army,the
city to submit its estimate of cost of work to be done and as soon
as an agreement is reached as to cost the work will start.
The Mayor now discusses the matter of spraying trees in the park-
ing areas throughout the city.
The matter is placed in charge of the Street Committee to ascertain

the cost of the work and report to the Council at the next regular
meeting.
A request from Mr.Irv1n Hollister to increase the size of his
truok scale located at 280 Nor~ Monterey Street is disoussed.The
granting of this permit is laid over until the next regular meeting.
