Minutes 1944/11/28 775 , Gilroy,California. November 28,lg44. This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called to order by Bis Honor Mayor George C.Milias. Present: Councilmen George A.Martin,Nat Heiner,.J.H.Wentworth,David V.Stout. Absent: Councilmen George M.Mason,Henry .J.Sohilllng. The Mayor announces that this is the time specified in a published notice calling for bids for certain storm water oontrol work to be done on Forest Street and on Swanston Lane. 776 The Mayor now asks the City Engineer to give his estimate of the oost of the storm water control work on Forest Street aI:l.d Swanston Lane. The Engineer states his estimate is $1,681.57. Two bids are now presented and read; one from Daley Bros.by William Radtke and one from George C.Renz- Daley Bros bid being $2,087.38; George C.Renz bid being $2,116.70. Motion by Councilman Stout,seconded by Councilman Martin and carried that the bid of Daley Bros, for certain storm water control work on Forest Street amd on Swanston Lane, be accepted, subject to the following changes: 110 l&neal feet of plain concrete pipe, oomplete in place at $4.41 per lineal foot; 1 wingwall,complete, at $lg7.34 eaoh; 1 only, reenforced concrete box culvert,complete in place at $780.00; total amount $1,462.44. A communication is read from Mr.Thelo Perrott stating that he would come to Gilroy to expla in the State Employees t Retirement System, his charge for this servi ce to be $15.00. It is unanimously agreed, to have ~w.Perrott cor~ to Gilroy, December 11th, to explain the retirem'nt system to the Mayor and members of the Council,the city employees and interested citizens.
