This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is oalled to
order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias.
Present: Councilmen George M.Mason,Nat He iner,J.H. Wentworth ,Ray L.
Stevens, .Jame s B. Thomas. Absent: Counci lme n George A.Mart in.
The Mayor states that the purpose of this meeting is to di souss
a new business and professions license ordinance.
Councilman Heiner,chairman of the Ordinance Committee, presents
a tentat i ve li st :for:.li'eenses for di scuss ion. Li censes ordinances
of Salinas,Mountain View,Pacific Grove and Burlingame are reviewed
and discussed.
After considerable discussion it is unanimously decided to follow
the sliding soale of licenses for merchandise establisrrments to be
in the form of the Salirlas Ordinance but with different amounts
in the several brackets.
The matter of the new licenses ordinance is turned over to the
ardinance committee with instructions to draw up a new ordinance
patterned after the Salinas ordinance, but with the fees adjusted
to meet local oonditions.
