This regula r ad journed meeting of the Common Counc il is called to
order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias.
Preserrt:Councilmen George M.Mason,Nat Reiner,.J.H.Wentworth,Ray L.
Stevens,~ames B.Thomas. Absent:Councilmen George A.Martin.
The Mayor announces that the purpose of thas meeting is to discuss
the proposed new license ordinance.
Councilman Hemner,chairman of the Ordinance Committee,now presents
the schedule of licenses his .coDlll1ittee has completed.
After some discussion it is unanimously agreed that the Gilroy
Uerchants Association should select six of their members,represent;i,ng
a cross-section of business in the city, to meet with the Council on
April 21st to discuss the proposed new license ordinance.
Counci~l1an Heiner states that the water heater at the Fire House is
in bad condition and in need of replacement.

matter of the purchase of a nevI water heater for t he Fire House be

Councilman ~entworth states that the Gilroy Rural Fire Department

has a fire truck for sale and discusses the possibility of the city
purchasitlg this equipment. The l1a~Tor states that he believes the city
should purchase new equipment,when needed.
