Minutes 1947/05/26 910 Gilroy, California May 26,1947. This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Council is called to order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias. Present:Councilmen George M.Mason,Nat Heiner,J.H.Wentworth, James B.Thomas. Absent: Councilmen George A.Martin,Ray L.Stevens. A oommunication is read from Night Offioer John FilIyaw submitting his resignation from the Polioe Depar~ent. Motion by Counoilman Mason,seconded by Councilman Thomas and oarried that the resignation of Night Officer John Fillyaw be aocepted as of May 26,1947. The Mayor announoes that applications to fill the vaoanoy left by the resignation of Night Offioer John Fillyaw ..111 be acoepted by the Council up to and inoluding Monlay,June 2nd,e.B!Ulook P.M. It is unanimously agreed to ohange the shift of the Night of~icers so that one man will come to work at 7 P.M. and the second officer at 10 P.M. ,both officers to work through until 6 A.M.-three officers to work the 7 P.M. to 6 A.M. shift on Saturdays and Sundays. Motion by Counoilman Wentworth,seoonded by Counoilman Thomas and carried that the permittof Mr.Lowell Hoffer to operate a Merchant's Patrol be resoinded due to the tact that Mr.Hoffer had discontinued his servioe in Gilroy. It is unanimously agreed that any applioations to establish a Merohant's Patrol, in the future, be referred to t6he Gilroy Merchants Association tor reoommendation. ORDINANCE NO.452 is presented and read. ... 911 ORDINANCE NO.452 AN ORDINANCE LICENSING THE TRANSACTION AND .G..lRRYING ON OF CERTAIN BUSINESSES,TRADES,PROFESSIONS,CALLINGS AND OCCUPATIONS IN THE CITY OF GILROY,FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING MUNICIPAL REVENUE AND PRONIDING A PENALTY FOR 'lEE VIOLATION THEREOF.
