IEr.Ed.Hanna of the City Engineers office is now called upon by the Mayor to report on his investigation of' the plans and specifications as presented to the Building Inspector for the two proposed duplex houses to be erected at the nprtheast corner of Eighthand Rosanna Streets by Mrs.Lillian Radin. Llr .Hanna states that cross-sect ion and deta il plans have not been submitted and that the ceiling height in the buildings as they now stand ivill have to be raised to meet the code requirements. !vIr. H. D.'Pierce now appears be fore the Counc il to complain a bout the buiQdings as they now stand arm states that no provision has been made for plumbi~;. It is unanimously agreed that the cross section,plot plan and detail plans and the ce ling height corrected must be added to the building 1052 penait before TIork can proceed. Councilman Daniels now asks the group of protestants present i:fthe plans and s};:Bcifications as submitted and with the additions as re- qUdired,l are submitted and the c ode is follovled in every respect nould the protestants be satisfied. The Mayor reports that no action gas been taken on the request of the local automobile dealers for an amendment to the license ord inance. The matter of' a Poundmaster is laid over until the next meeting. Councilman Stevens re ports that the plllilp at the city sewer farrn is in need of repairs. It is unanimously agreed that Councilman Stevens check the matter of repairs further. Councilman Wentworth presents the request of the Pacific Telephone and Tekegraph Company to lay an llilderground cable on Eigelberry Street frorn First Street to Ninth Street. It is unanimously agreed that the City Clerk ,-vrite a letter to the League of California Cities to ascertain if the City can demand a franchise from the company to lay thus underground cable. The Mayor states that the Coast Counties Gas and Electric COIllpany have advised him that the new brackets for street lights in the residential district are available and suggests that the Lighting Committee contact the company to discuss location for the brackets. r:.Ir.Voorhies now Hppears before the Council to discuss the city's liability insurance policies and sugGests increases in amounts of coverage and additional insurance for property damage. The l':Iayor instructs the 1!'inance Corrrrnittee to meet with the city's insurance advisor to inspect the policy and report to the Council. The matter of the complaintsof the Gilroy If<5me 1!urnishers and Sprouse-Reitz Company with respect to overcharg-e by Rubino's Gilroy Garbage Disposal is now discussed. LIr..Tesse Rubino is now called before the Council and explairill the increase in charge for garbage service complained of.
