Minutes 1949/07/25 1106 Gilro.y,California Jul y 25,1949.. This regular adjourned meeting of the Common Counoil is called to order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias. Present:Counci~en George M.Mason,J.H.Wentworth,Ray L.Stevens,James B.Thomas,Dale D,Daniels. Absent:Councilman David V.Stout. The Mayor states that this meeting is tor:'.the purpose of hearing any protests and/or objections to the rezoning of the west side or Hanna Street between Second Street and the south line of the property of Giachino,i legal notice having been published calling this mee~ing for this p~se. The Clea-k~..now reads the repDrt, findings and reoommandat ions 0 l' the Gilroy City Planning Commission on the rezoning of the following described property: Commencing at the intersect ion of thw westerly line of Hanna Street with the northerly line of 2nd Street;thence northwesterly along the westerly line of Hanna Street 404.30 . teet to the land og Giachino;thence westerly along the south- erly line of the premises of Giachino 160.64 teet to the east- erly line if en undedicated alley;thence southerly at a unitorm distance of 160.64 feet from the west erly line of Hanna Street 483 teet to the northerly line of 2nd Street; thence dncan.l'east erly direct ion to the point of beginning. The City Planning Commission recommends that the above described area not be rezoned from Zone "A" to Zone "B". The Mayor now asks if there is any person present who wishes to protest and/or objeot to the rezoning of the above described land. No person appears to protest and/or object. Motion by Counoilman Stevens ,seconded by Councilman Mason and oarried that the recommendation of ~he Gilroy City Planning Comm- ission reoommending that the above described land be not rezoned trom Zone "A" to Zone "B", be accepted and that 1abe\;sa14'~3d8scribed area remain a. Motion by Counoilman Thomas,seoonded by Councilman Wentworth that '.,..1 RESOLUTION NO.225 be adopted: RESOL1'J'l'ION NO. 225 RESOLUTION OF THE CO}~ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ADOPTING BUDGET AND APPROVING FIRST SUPPLEMENTAL MEMi ORANDMUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF GAS TAX ALLOCATION FOR MAJOR CITY STREETS. ,,,,,,,.. .....lI!I WHEREAS, a ti rst supplemental memorandum ot agreement has been presented to be entered into with the State of California in aocordanoe with a project statement submitted by the City of Gilra,y for expenditure ot gas tax allocation to cities for the fiscal year 1950, and 'WHEREAS, the Common Counoil has\'h'eard read said agreement in full and is ~lar with the contents thereot; THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Gilroy that said project statement be and it is hereby adopted as the budget o~ proposed expenditures ot the gas tax allocation to ci ties, and said agreement be and the SaIne is hereby approved . and the mayor and the city olerk are directed to sign the same on behalf ot said city, said agreement to be binding upon the City upon its exeoution by authorized officials o~ the State. After same discussion this matter is referred to Counoilman Wentworth. r- The Clerk is instructed to advise the chairman of the Recreation I , U Commission that the parties taking oare of the small park on North Monterey Street will water and mow the lawn at the Forest Street playgrounds for '15.00 per month.
