Present: Councilnen George E.1''Iason,J .H. ~7ent'\IOI'th,Hay L.Stevens ,Janes B.Thomas,Dale D.Daniels. Abs8nt:Councilman David V.Stout. The LIayor announces that this is the tine specified in a legal notioe for a publi c hearing on the matter of annexation of th e Renz Ranch Tract. The ]:,Iayor now aSksif there is any person present who desires to protest and/or object the the prOlJOsed annexation of the Henz Ranch Tract to the City of Gilroy. No pel~son is present -GO protest and lor object to the annexation of the Renz Ranch Tract to the City of Gilroy. The matter of annexations to-theCity,.6fGilroy and $'uture:stibdivwiions with the present liuits of the City of Gilroy is discussed. Motion by Councilman Mason. ..~ ,seconded by Councilrl8.ll S-yevens and carried t hat the hearing on the Renz Ranch Tract annexation to the City of Gilroy be po stponed to July 3,1950. Motion by Councilman Daniels,seconded by CouncilI'lan Stevens and carried t hat the City Attorney be instructed to dra\v up a resol'ition stipulating conditions upon which subdivisions within or outside the , present city limits of the City of Gilroy will be accepted by the City o f Gilroy. Motion by CounciL'11.an Vlentworth,seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried that the office of Assistant Superintendent of Streets and Sewers be created and that the office or Assistant \futer Superintendent be created. Motion by Councilman ~entworth,seconded by Councilman Daniels and 1172 carried that Anthony liartin be appointed Assistant Superintendent of Streets and SevJers at a salary of ;~245.00 per month, ef1-'ective June 1,1950. Motion by Councilman Mason,seconded by Councilman Stevens and carried that Gabriel Filice be appointed Assistant Water Superintendent at a salary of 0245.00 per roonth,effective June 1,1950. Councilman Stevens discusses the matter of conversion of the old septdc tank property on East Street into a city corporation yard. It is unanimously agreed to place this matter in the hands of the several cOTh~ittees of the Council concerned for investigation. The L1ayor discusses the matter of widening of Monterey Street to conform with the the improvements under way on 101 highwayx south the the city limits. Adjourned subject to the callN of the chair.
