This regular monthly meeting of the Cormnon Council is called to
order by His Honor l.1ayo r George C .Mi lias.
Present :Councilrnen George 1.1.Mason,J.H. Vientworth,Hay L.Stevens,
James B.Thomas,David V.Stout,Dale D.Daniels.
Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of May 2nd ani regular
adjourned meetings of May 16th and 22nd,1950, are read and appro-
ved.
The Mayor thanks the Council for the sent iments expressed in
RESOLmUTION No.236.
Reports of the City Officers are presented and read.

carried that reports of the City Officers be accepted as read.and
placed on file.
Motion by Councilman Stevens,seconded by Councilman Daniels and
carried that bills as presented be allowed and 'warrants ordered
dravm on the Treasurer.

carried that this meeting of the Common Council adjourn sine die.
The Mayor now thanks retiring Councih~n Stevens for his service
to the City and presents him with a gift on behalf of the citizens
of the City of Gilroy.

on the Council and outliesk briefly the duties of Councilman and the
general operation of the Council

A cormnunication is read from Smith Howard thanking the Mayor and
Council, for appointing him to a position on the PJanning Commission.

ocation Division,relative the balance which will remain in the Chapter
20 Funds on XNS com)letion of wbrk on the sewage treatment plant.This

A com.'TI.unication is read :from Mr.J.J.Jones ,attorney, relative to

Stoops for water service for his proposed
0f'F.. subdivision located .on Hecker .Pass : Ilighway opposite Morey Avenue ,Mr.
~ Jones stating that the city is obligated to furnish a one-inch pipe
service due to the fact that the city pipe line crosses over a portion
of his pI' operty.
The Council agrees unanimously that if the city pipe line crosses
LIr. Stoops' pr operty the city is obliga tad to grant the application.
The City Engineer is asked of the city pipe line crosses IJr.Stoops'
property and he states that he believes it does. The Chief Adminis-
trative Officer is instructed to ascertain definetly if the city pipe
line is on Mr.Stoops' property.
A communication is read from I.1r.Tomas Lopez,250 S.Alexander Street,
stat ing that as soon as tenants resid iI1g on his property can find
accomodations elsewhere he will proceed to demolish the dwellings in
accordance v'lith instructions from the Council. The Building Inspector

Applicat ion for a transfer of an On Sale Beer and '/fine license from
Enrico Conrotto to Carolina and Enrico Conrotto,d.b.a.Rico's Place,
59 S.Monterey Street, is presented. No onjection is made. Application
for a transfer of an One Sale Beer and "line license from David ,Jose-
phine and Priscilla Davila to Mary Hernandez and Bernabe Soza,d.b.a.
Dave's Cafe, 99 S.Lionterey Street, is presented.

vmEREAS the City of Gilroy has heretofore, by order of the
the COrr.JIlOn Gou,jcil, purchased froLl surplus funds the follovving
U.S.War Savings Bonds, Series "G", to-wit:
10 bonds, each dated September,1943, and numbered IJ1652651G
to M1652660G, inclusiveIJl. each for ~l,OOO.OO;
10 bonds, each dated October,19439 numbered M1682156G to
M16822165G, inclusive, each for $1,000.00;
5 bonds, each dated January~ 1944, and numbered M2296511G
to M22965l5G, inclusive, each for ~1,000.00;
and, i~EREAS the City of Gilroy now requires the money used dn this
purchase of bonds for municipal purposes, and it is necessary that
said bonds be surrendered for redemption,
NOIV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the
City of Gilroy that the said bonds hereinbefore described be
surrendered to the U.S.Treasur:' Department for redemption, for the
price as established by the said Treasur~ Department, and that the
City Clerk of the City of Gilroy be and he is hereby authorized to
execute a 11 the necessary papers and docume nts and endorsements
required to have said bonds redeemed.
