Minutes 1953/06/16 1415 Gilroy,California June 16,1953 This regular adjourned meeting of the COIIllTlon Council is called to order by His Honor Mayor George C.Milias. Present:Councilmen Carl W.Pate,Courtland M.Rush,J.Hughes Kennedy,Charlec Gallo,George W.wnite,Jack W.Ronald. The Mayor states that the purpose of this meeting i€ to consider bids for the construction of a bridge across the Llagas Creek at the city Sewer Farm. The Mayor now orders that the bids as presented be opened. Three bids are presented:William Radtke & Son-$4746.oo; Gordon Farotte- $4418.00; Geerge C.Renz Construction Co.,Inc.-$5592.00. Motion by Councilman Ronald,seconded by Councilman Rush and carried that the bid of Gordon Farotte of $4418.00 for the construction of a bridge across the Llagas Creek at the city Sewer Farm be accepted and that the contractor be allowed one day additional for each day beyond from this date 30 days/that the piling for the bridge is not in place. The Building Inspector presents a request from Larry Larsons Motors to erect signs on property being used as a used car lot at tile north- west corner of Second & Monterey Streets. Motion by Councilman Pate,seconded by Councilman Ronald and carried that Larry Larsons Motors be granted permission to place two signs four feet by ten feet in size -one on the back fence along the alley and one on the north fence-on the lot located at the northwest corner of Second and Monterey streets.
