This meeting called on tbe publication of a legal notice calling
for bids for certain street work is called to ord.er by the City Clerk,
in the absence of His honur Mayor George C.IJlilias.
Present:Councilmen Cm'l W.Pate,Courtlm1c M.Rush,J.Hughes Kennedy,
Charles Gallo,George W.1Vhite. Absent:Councilman Jack W.Honald.
The Clerk now calls for nominations for Mayor Pro-tern.
Motion By Council!I~an Kennedy, seconded by Councilman Rush and carried
that Councilman Carl W. Pate be Mayor Pro-tern.
The Mayor Pro-tern announces that this is t be time s pecidUed in a
Ie gal notice calling for bids for the inprovement of Rosanna street
from Seventh to Tentb Street and Tenth Street from Rosanna Street to
Monterey Street.
Three bids are presented and read: Benz Construction Company-$10,372.30
Granite Construction Company-$12,751.95; Coast Grading and Paving
Company-$15,376.2l.
Motion by Councilman Rush,seconded by Councilman White and carried
that tl1e bid of Renz Construction Company of $10,372.30 for the im-
provement of Rosanna Street from Seventh to Tenth Street and Tenth
Street from Rosanna Street to t.onterey Street, be acc:epted,subject to
approval of the City Attorney and the City Engineer.
A brief discussion is now had on the matter of the Pacific Telephone
and Telepgraph Company's request to construct the necesGary works to
~ the bring their coaxial cable from the north city limits of Gilroy to
the south city limits.
