The Mayor announces that the purpose of this meeting is to consider the establi s"hing of three fire zone s in the city as recommended by the Gilroy City Planning Commission. After considerable discussion ~ld the discovery of discrepancies between provi sions of the 1952 BniforiJl Building Code and ordinances . of the city with respect to fire zone requirements and regulations it is unanimously agreed to meet with the Gilroy City Planning Co:\mission on Monday,January 25,1954 at 8 0 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers to discuss their recommendations vlith them. ~f.r. Stuart Fletcher representing the Board of Trustees of the Gilroy Union High School District nO\l; appears before the Council and presents a letter from the school board which requests the closing of Forest 1475 Street betliveen I.O.O.l<'.Avenue Md Swanston Lane if a proposed bond election to be held April 20,1954,carries.The letter,acCoIUpanied by a map,showing the proposed re-routing of FOrE~Gt Street is presented and diGc!,lssed.
