This special meeting of the Common Counctl called by His Honor
Mayor George M.Mason,each Councilman and the press havigg been
notified more than twenty-four hours in advance, is called t 0 order by
His Honor Mayor George M.Mason.
Presen:t;.:Councilmen Carl W.Pate,Charles Gallo,J.Hughes Kennedy,
Courtland M.Rush,Kenneth L.Petersen,5e6~ndo Sanchez.
The Mayor states that the purpose of this meeting is to discuss
f~re insurance and the broker of record for city fire insurance.
The fJIayor now c aIls upon Councilman Rush, chairman of the Finance
Committee, for a report on the matter of a broker of record for the
city for city insurance., Councilman Rush reports that the Finance
Committee can see no advantage in changing the present broker of
record who is Mr.E.E.Eustice,b4 N.M~nterey 5t.,Gilroy,California.
The Council now discusses tha matter of broker of record.
Mr.F.3.Voorhies,president of the Gilroy Insurance Agents AssOCiation,
now~ppaars before the Council and states that the association is the
temporary broker of record to secure certain information from the
Pacific Fire Rating Bureau with reference to the city fire insuranc.e.

broker of recO'rd for the "city's fire insurance business.
Councilman Rush discusses the matter of broker of record stating
that he does not approve any set-up that will eliminate any insurance
in the city

Motion by Councilman Rush,seconded by Councilman Pate and farried
that E.E.Eustice be appointed broker of record ~or the city's fire
insurance business and that the City Clerk be instructed to
ascertain from the Pacific Fire Rating Bureau if there is any
confusion in the bureau over the present set-up with the Gilroy
Insurance Agents Association acting as temporary broker arid E.E.
Eustice as broker of record.
