This special meeting of the Common Council is called to order
by His Honor Sig Sanchez.
Present: Councilmen Carl W. Pate, Courtland M. Rush, Everett,
C. Wentworth, and Wilford E. Jordan.
Absent: Councilmen Kenneth L. Petersen and Charles Gallo.
The Mayor states that the purpose for holding this meeting is
to adopt a resolutmon authorizing the Chief Administrative Officer
to file an application for an agreement with the Public Utilities
Commission for funds for financing automatic crossing signals at
the Ninth Street railroad crossing.
Resolution No. 549 is presented and read by the City Clerk.
Motion by Councilman Rush second by Councilman Wentworth that Res-
olution No. 549 be adopted.

RESOLUTION NO. 549 OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING THE EXECU-
TION OF AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY FOR
INSTALLATION OF SAFETY CROSSING WARNING DEVICES AT THE CROSSING
ON 9TH STREET IN THE CITY OF GILROY, AND THE MAKING OF AN APPLI-
CATION TO THE PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF ONE-
HALF OF THE COST TO THE CITY OF GILROY FOR SUCH INSTALLATION.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 27th day of November, 1959, by the follow-
ing vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Pate, Rush ,Wentworth, and Jordan
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Petersen and Gallo
