This special executive meeting of the Council is called to
order by His HQnor Sig Sanchez.
Present: Councilmen Norman B. Goodrich, Wilford E. Jordan,
Carl W. Pate, Kenneth L. Petersen, Courtland M. Rush, and Everett
C. Vv'entworth.
The Mayor states that the purpose of this meeting is to dis-
cuss the applications for Chief of Police and to decide whether
to leave the salary range for this position as previously estab-
lished or to raise the salary range.
Discussion is had on this matter.
Motion by Councilman Pate second by Councilman Rush and
carried that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a reso-
lution necessary to establish a new salary range for Chief of
Police from $5R4 - 613 - 644 - 676 - 710. '
Discussion is had on establishing new qualifications for
applicants for the position of Chief of Police.
It is decided to add the following qualifications to the
previous established qualifications: College education and
five years of general police esperience, or High School educa-
tion and ten years of general police experience and a minimum
age of 30 years in any case.
Motion by Councilman Wentworth second by Councilman Pate
and carried that this meeting adjourn.
