Minutes 1967/10/12 ~712 ....... --. MINUTES OF GILROY CITY COUNCILS. Special Meeting of October 12, 1967 The Special Meeting of Gilroy City Council was called to order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich at 6:00 p.m. Roll Call Present:: Council Members: George T. Duffin, Mark E. Kennedy, Jr. Charles F. Quartiroli, Anthony C. Silva, Everett C. Wentworth, and Norman B. Goodrich, Absent: Council Member: John E. Allemand. Jt. Sewer Agree. The Mayor stated that the purpose of the Special Meeting was re:Gilroy- called to consider the proposed Joint Powers Agreement with Gilroy Morgan Hill and Morgan Hill regarding the Interceptor Sewer Line. 2713 Chairman Wentworth (Gilroy's Council Sewer Committee) reported that' said committee met 'and':w0rkea:~out an agraement~on~tHe proposed inter-City boundary and so recommends that the final boundary lines in regard to the Uvas Dam Reservoir be set at the north-westerly sid~ of said reservoir as Morgan Hill's boundary line and the south- ::westerl y' sid~ I as'. (Hlr'oy~'s, bouni:lary':imd. tb~t; tl1e~property.just be low the reservoir ne~r the spillway would be Gilroy's territory in order to allow for future water easements and access to the valve connec- tion for Gilroy's established rights to 1,000 acre feet of water annually in said reservoir. Chairman Wentworth also reported that Morgan Hill would pay for the entire sewer interceptor and that the only charge to the City of Gilroy would be the oversizing of said line south of Highland Ave., preliminarily estimated by the Project Engi neersat $ 75,000.00. Discussion was had regarding the future overslzlng of said sewer line from the North City Limits of Gilroy to the existing Gilroy Sewer Plant, referred to on page 8 of the proposed Agreement. Council agreed that same should be clarified to indicate the exact size of the sewer line to be replaced at this location and that any additional replacements of Gilroy's presently existing sewage pipe system to serve this joint venture shall be paid for jointly by the two cities on a pro-rate basis determined upon the volume of flow requested by each city under pipeline replacements. Res.#1149 Resolution No. 1149 authorizing execution of the proposed executing Joint Powers Agreement for Gilroy and Morgan Hill's Interceptor Sewer Jt. Powers line was presented, subject to adding the above pipe replacement pro- Agreement vision.
