The Adjourned Meeting of the Gilroy City Council was
called to order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich a~ 8:00 p.m.
Present: Council Members: John E. Allemand, George T.
Duffin, Mark E. Kennedy, Charles F. Quartiroli, Everett C. Went-
worth and Norman B. Goodrich.
Absent: Council Member: Anthony C. Silva.
The City Clerk presented and read a proposed ordinance
regarding the City's participation in the Public Employees' Re~
tirement System.

At 8:01 p.m. Councilman Silva entered and took his seat
at the Council table.
Motion was made by Councilman Wentworth seconded by
Councilman Allemand and carried that the proposed ordinance authori-
zing the Cityls participation in the State of Cali,fornia's Public
Employees1 Retirement System be introduced and published by title
and summary.
Intro. ord. An ordinance repealing the City Code regarding the pre-
re:City code sent City.s Retirement Program was presented and read. Motion was
amend. made by Councilman Wentworth seconded by Councilman Allemand and
present carried that the ordinance repealing the City Code in regard to
Retire. the present City Retirement Program be introduced and published
System by title and summary.
1968-73 Cap. City Administrator Wood presented and explained the
Imp. Prog.proposed 1968-1973 Capital Improvement Program. Discussion and
review,of same was had.
Budget re: Motion was made by Councilman Wentworth seconded by
DC4 Tractor Councilman Allemand and carried that $8,000.00 be placed in the
1968-69 Budget for purchase of a DC4 tractor complete with disc
to be used at the Sewer Farm. It was noted that Staff should,
investigate possibility of purchasing a new or used tractor, which
ever would be the most economical.
Council referred approval of the Capital Improvement
Program presented with amendments to the May 20, 1968 regular
meeting in order to hear additional presentation of proposed Fire
Station andlor Headquarters by Fire Chief Brittain.
Adjournment
At 10: 10 p.m. the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
