Minutes 1972/07/31 ,..- 3374 Gilroy, Cal ifornia July 31,1972 The Special Meeting of the Gilroy City Council was called to order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich at 8:28 p.m. Roll Call Present: Council Members: Fred P. Batrez, George T. Duffin, John Hughan, John E. Pate, David V. Stout, and Norman B. Goodrich Absent: Council Member: Anthony C. Silva Memorandums of The Mayor stated that the Special Meeting of the Council was Understanding, called to review the Memorandums of Understanding with Three (3) Emp. Ass'ns. Employee Organizations. ,-" Adjournment 3375 . City Admi~strator Wood presented, distributed, and explained copies of the proposed Memorandums of Understanding from the three (3) employee organizations. The Mayor asked if any of the representatives from the employee associations had a comment in regard to said Memorandums of Understanding. There was no comment from anyone in the audience. Discussion was had in regard to the educational incentive program proposed by the three associations. Councilman Stout objected to the educational incentive program cost to the City obligating the City for education not required by the City. He further noted that he was not opposed to the employees receiving additional education but objected to the City not benefiting from said education through the City services of the employees. Motion was made by Councilman Batrez seconded by Counci lman Pate and carried that 'ISection b" of the three agreements in regard to the educational incentive program be approved. Councilman Stout voted "noll on the motion. Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Duffin and carried that the three Memorandums of Understanding from the Employee Associations as presented by approved.
