Minutes 1974/11/07 3630 November 7, 1974 Gilroy, California The adjourned meeting of the Gilroy City Council was called to order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich at 5:03 p.m. Roll Call Present: Council Members: Dennis L. DeBell, John Hughan, John E. Pate, Anthony C. Silva, David V. Stout and Norman B. Goodrich. Absent: Council Member: George T. Duffin. Sewer Farm Add'tl. Industrial Waste- water Pond- City Administrator Wood reported that the property belonging to John ing Scherrer at 39.39 acres recommended by Staff to have the best percolation qua- lities was verbally offered to the City at $7,000.00 per acre, with the option to the City to make a counter offer. The Mayor stated that the purpose of this adjourned meeting was to further consider acquisition of additional emergency lands for Industrial Wastewater ponding. Councilman Duffin entered at 5:05 p.m. and took his seat at the Council table. It was further noted that the Silveria Property was held in,trust by the Bank of America and that said property was not availabl~e since same was under a lease agreement until 1979. Discussion was had on the matter. Mr. Courtland M. Rush, former City Councilman and Chairman of the Council Sewer Advisory Committee, addressed the Council and opposed the City purchasing additional property for filter bed purposes in close proximity to the City Limits. He noted that the Water Quality Control Board (of which he is presently a member) may have adverse comment if the City purchased property for filter bed purposes this close to the City Limits of the City of Gilroy. Further discussion was had on the matter. Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Silva and carried that the City Administrator be authorized to proceed with the purchase of the original estimated 120 acre parcel offered to the City adjacent to the Sewer Farm belonging to Rea-Anderson, et al if said property was still avail- able at the original terms. The Mayor instructed the Council Sewer Advisory Committee, Council- men Silva, Stout and Pate to meet with Staff and representatives of the Local Food Processing Plants to discuss ways and means to develop the 120 acres. Representatives of the Local Food Processing Plants were present and requested notification of said Committee Meeting date two to three days in advance. Hidden Tract 5563 Glen Director of Public Works-City Engineer Hansen presented the Develop- ment Agreement for IIHidden Glenll Subdivision, Tract #5563 and explained the stipulations for same. Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Duffin and carried that the Development Agreement for IIHidden Glen" Subdivision, Tract 5563 be approved as presented. 3631 Adjournment .'
