Minutes 1975/06/11 3698 Gilroy, California June 11, 1975 A Special Meeting of the Gilroy City Council was called to order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich at 5:06 p.m. Roll Call Present: Council Members: William E. Childers, Dennis L. De Bell, Marion T. Link, David V. Stout and Norman B. Goodrich. Absent: Council Members: George T. Duffin and John E. Pate. Housing & Com. Dev. Act '74 City Administrator Wood explained the urgency of Council action regarding a technical amendment to the Cooperation Agreement with the County for Title I funds under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. He further noted that this would be the second amendment to said Cooperation Agreement. The Mayor stated the purpose of this meeting to discuss same and authorize execution of said amendment. Councilman Pate entered at 5:06~ p.m. and took his seat at the Council table. 3699 : City Administr~tor Wood further explained the amendment to said Cooperation Agreement. He further read a resolution of the County sent to HUD objecting to the Department of Housing and Urban Development methods of administering the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. Res. #75-30 Resolution No. 75-30 was presented authorizing execution of the amendment to the subject agreement. Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Childers that the reading of Resolution No. 75-30 be waived and that it be adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 75-30 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ACKNOWLEDGING EXECUTION OF COOPERATION AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT THERETO PURSUANT TO TITLE I OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of June, 1975, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: CHILDERS, DeBELL, lINK, PATE, STOUT and GOODRICH. NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: DUFFIN Discussion was had in regard to objecting to HUD's method of admin- istering the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. Council re- quested that the City Administrator write the local Congressional repre- sentatives in regard to same noting their objection to HUD's method of administering said Act of 1974.
