The adjourned Regular Meeting of the Gilroy City Council was called
to order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich at 4:23 p.m.
Roll Call Present: Council Members: Dennis L. DeBell, George T. Duffin, Marion
T. Link, John E. Pate, David V. Stout and Norman B. Goodrich. Absent: Council-
Member: William E. Childers.
Adjournment The Mayor adjourned the Meeting at 4:24 p.m. to an Executive Session.
Reconvened
At 4:34 p.m. the Mayor reconvened the Adjourned Regular Meeting.
City Administrator Wood noted that the Supervisory Group is present
in the audience and wishes to speak to Council in regard to their proposed
Agreement.

Group
Rudy Quintanar, Parks Foreman, representing the Supervisory Group
addressed the Council for reconsideration of their last request for 1% salary
increase over and above the line employees, and gave reasons for said proposal.
Councilman Pate inquired if the Supervisory Group wished to remain
a separate group or be included with the Gilroy Employees' Association. Parks
Foreman Quintanar noted that the Supervisory Group would prefer to remain a
separate Group from the Gilroy Employees' Association. He further noted that
the Educational Benefit proposed would only benefit approximately one-half (~)
of the supervisors. He noted that their Group would like to reach some agree-
ment with Council and Administration today to avoid an Impasse Action if possi-
ble.
The Mayor asked if there was anyone in the audience wishing to speak
on the matter.
Office Engineer Richard Cox, representing the Supervisory Group ad-
dressed the Council further explaining the group's proposal.
The Fire Department Group reported that they have no proposal at this
time. The Mayor reported that Council has made the final offer to the Fire
Department as of July 6, 1976; that they are not going to enter into an Impasse
Procedure and will vote unilaterally on the final offer.
Motion was made by Councilman Stout seconded by Councilman Duffin and
carried that the Council not enter into an Impasse Procedure with the Fire
Department Group . Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman
Stout and carried that the Council take unilateral action to put into effect
the final offer as of July 6, 1976 made to the Fire Department Group.
The Mayor recommends that the proposal made by the Supervisory Group
be considered at an Executive Session and adjourns at 5:00 p.m. to said Execu-
tive Session.
At 5:09 p.m. the Mayor reconvened the regular adjourned meeting. H~
noted that Council is ready to vote upon the Supervisory Group's proposal.
Motion was made by Councilman Link seconded by Councilman Stout and
carried that the City not enter into an Impasse Procedure with the Supervisory
Group.
Motion was made by Councilman Stout seconded by Councilman Duffin and
carried that the Council take unilateral action of the last offer made to the
Supervisory Group and that same become effective.
Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman DeBell and
carried that the City Administrator's salary be set at $30,000.00 per year.
Motion was made by Councilman Stout seconded by Councilman Pate and carried
that the City Attorney's Salary be set at an additional $500.00 ner year.
Adjournment
At 5:14 p.m. the Mayor adjourned the~eeting.
