Minutes 1980/07/15 Roll Call Counci 1 John E. t1ember: 4437 J u 1 y 15, 19 80 Gilroy, California The Mayor called the Meeting to order at 3:09 p.m. Present: Members: Brian D. Cunningham, Roberta H. Hughan, Marion T. Link, Pate, Robert E. Taylor and Norman B. Goodrich. Absent: Council Sharon Albert. ., 4438 Golf Course Agree. Executive Session ~~eet & Confer Adjournment Councilman Taylor presented a recommendation of the Council Golf Course Advisory Committee to approve a Gilroy Golf and Country Club Agreement with an amendment to Schedule IIAII of same chaning the Operator's gross per year from $45,000.00 to $55,000.00. City Administrator Wood further explained the proposed agree- ment. Discussion was had by Council on the matter. Councilman Link inquired of use of the reclaimed water for use at the Golf Course. Councilman Taylor noted that it was the Operator's intent to use same after the summer season to prevent any possible damage to the course. Motion was made by Councilman Taylor seconded by Councilman Cunningham and carried that the agreement with the Gilroy Golf and County Club as presented be approved with an amendment to same as recommended to Schedule IIAII changing the Operator's gross per year from $45,000.00 to $55,000.00. At 3:21 p.m., the Mayor adjourned to an Executive Session. At 4:17 p.m., the Mayor reconvened the Meeting. All Council Members were present. Motion was made by Councilman Link seconded by Councilman Pate and carried by the following Roll Call Vote that Staff be in- structed to notify the Negotiating Representatives of the Police and Fire Department Associations that the last offer made by the City of Gilroy is the final offer due to the fact that the City is unable to calculate what its financial position will be in future years and this safeguard ~ust be included in the contract. Ayes: Council Members: Albert, Cunningham, Hughan, Link, Pate, Taylor and Goodrich. t1otion was made by Councilman Link seconded by Councilman Pate and carried that City Administrator Wood be directed to negotiate further with the t~iscellaneous Employees, that Council in general agrees with their proposed contract with the exception of the Medical and Dental Item; that as of this date, Council has made no change in their previous action that indicated that they would recognize retroactivity through July 15, 1980, and that Council has taken no action to change same; and that City Administrator Wood be instructed to continue negotiating with the Police and Fire Department Associa- tions. At 4:18 p.m., motion was made by Councilman Link seconded by Councilman Taylor and carried to adjourn to an Adjourned Regular Council Meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 1980.
