Minutes 1981/07/09 4598 Roll Call Med Fly Program Executive Session July 9, 1981 Gilroy, California The Adjourned Regul ar t,1eeti ng of the Gil roy City Council was called to order by His Honor t.1ayor Norman B. Goodrich at 3:05 p.m. Present: Council Members: Brian D. Cunningham, Marion T. Link, John E. Pate, Robert E. Taylor and Norman B. Goodrich. Absent: Council Members: Sharon Albert and Roberta H. Hughan. City Administrator Wood presented a telegram from Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in regard to spraying of malation to combat the Mediterranean Fruit Fly. Council concurred that the City.s equipment would be available if requested. The Mayor adjourned the meeting at 3:08 p.m. to an 'Executive Session in regard to Management salaries. At 4:55 p.m., the Mayor reconvened the meeting. Councilman Link reported that the Foss Report would no longer be used for Management personnel. City Administrator Wood further explained that Council desires to retain the right to set these salaries based upon performance, etc. Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Taylor and carried that the following annual salaries for the 1981-82 fiscal year be approved: Director of Public Works Chief of Police Parks & Recreation Director Fire Chief Assistant City Administrator Planning Director Police Commander Fire Marshal Public Works Superintendent Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Personnel Director Chief Building Inspector Ci ty Cl erk Purchasing Agent $45,000 $40,000 $40,000 $38,000 $37,000 $37,000 $35,000 $33,000 $33,000 $32,000 $31,000 $31,000 $27,000 $25,000 Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Cunningham and carreid that an annual salary for the 1981-82 fiscal year for the City Attorney be $20,000 and $53,000 for the City Administrator. Adjournment ... 4599 Motion was made by Councilman Pate seconded by Councilman Link and carried that salary increases be approved for the Administrative Secretary, Personnel Secretary and Computer Operator to be in accord with the 1981-82 salary increases approved for the Miscellaneous Employee Group. City Administrator Wood noted that the Joint Meeting with the Cities of Morgan Hill and Gilroy on July 14, 1981 at 6:30 p.m. has been scheduled to be at the r~atthew Country Manor Restaurant, 65 W.
