Minutes 1983/04/08 4860 Aoril 8, 1982 Gilroy, California CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S PUBLIC HEARING RF.: REVENUE SHARING FUNDS City Administrator Protemoore Reinsch noted that it was the time and place scheduled for a Public Hearing for the ourpose of ob- taining written and oral comment from the public on the proposed use of revenue sharing funds in the uocoming City of Gilroy Budget for Fiscal Year 1983-1934 this 8th day of April, 1982, at the hour of 9:30 o'clodk a.m. Present: City Administrator Protemoore Reinsch and City Clerk Steinmetz. ~ I City Administrator Protempore Reinsch reported that the anti- ... cipated revenue sharing funrls expected to be received is $228,000.00. He reported that the City proposes the following expenditures from revenue sharing funds in the 1983-84 fiscal year: Police Vehicle, Police Generator, Chipper Van replacement, Street Construction Maintenance and Rural Fire Department Property on Church Street. He further reported that other City of Gilroy funds will also be used for the above items. City Administrator Protempore Reinsch asked if there was anyone in the audience wishing to present requests for revenue sharing funds. Ms. Fern Expinosa, associated with The Foon Bank, San Jose, and Brown Bag organization of Gilroy, noted that throuqh these organiza- tions the Senior Citizens are serving 288 lunches every Thursday at the Community Center and that additional sian-ups are scheduled for April 21, 1983, at 10:00 o'clock a.m. She further requested City f~nds to sustain the on-going program in the amount of $3,400.00. City Administrator Protempore Reinsch reoorted that this parti- cular request may be proposed elsewhere in the City's Budget due to federal criteria and audit requirements for revenue sharinq funding. He further noted that this request would be taken under advisement. ...... ..~ City Administrator Protemoore Reinsch asked if there was anyone further in the audience wishing to speak. Mr. Waldo Matilainen, Vice President of the Community Seniors' Club, requested that appropriate funds be orovided in the 1983-84 Budget and future City budget for a full time Senior Coordinator oosi- tion to include salary and frinqe benefits comparable with other City, emp 1 oyees . ' City Administrator Protempore Reinsch reported that the Parks and Recreation Department has budgeted one full-time and one part-tirpe position under the Council on Aging Grant Funds and suggested that Mr. Matilainen check with Mr. Bob Connelly in the Parks and Recreation Department to determine if these positions are one in the same. Mr. Matilainen inquired if the oart-time position woulrl recei~e a salary increase at the time other City employees receive same. Ci y Administrator Protempore Reinsch suggested that he check with Mr. Bo Conne lly. City Administrator Protempore Reinsch asked if there was anyone further in the audience wishing to speak on the matter. There was no further comment from anyone in the audience. .....
