The Special Meeting of the Gilroy City Council was called to
order by His Honor Mayor Norman B. Goodrich at 5:01 p.m.
Present: Council Members: Roberta H. Hughan, Marion T. Link,
Robert E. Taylor, Pete Valdez, Jr. and Norman B. Goodrich.
Absent: Council Members: Sharon A. Albert and Donald F. Gage.
The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting is to award
a contract for the Municipal Wastewater Ponds Expansion Project
1983-4 - Phase II.
City Administrator Baksa reported that three bids were received
and recommended award of the contract to Kiewit Pacific Company in the
amount of $391,160.00.
He noted that the Public Works Staff has arranged for contracts
to be signed and a notice to proceed on Friday, October 21, 1983. He
further noted that there would be a forty (40) day construction period
on this project.
Jr. Civil Engineer Allen noted that Kiewit Pacific Company has
indicated that they would be able to begin substantial construction
on the project by October 24, 1983.
Discussion was had by Council on the project. Motion was made
by Councilman Link seconded by Councilman Taylor and carried that the
bid for the Municipal Wastewater Ponds Exoansion Project 1983-4, Phase
II be awarded Kiewit Pacific Company in the amount of $391,160.00, as
re commended.
At 5:06 p.m., the Mayor adiourned the meeting.
