The Mayor called the Meeting to order at 5:06 p.m.
The City Clerk reported that the Agenda had been posted on
October 18, 1989 at 4:25 p.m.
Present: Councilmembers: Donald F. Gage, Leonard A. Hale,
Paul V. Kloecker, Larry Mussallem, Daniel D. Palmerlee, and
Roberta H. Hughan; Absent: Councilmember: Pete Valdez, Jr.
The Mayor noted that this Special Meeting was called
regarding discussion of the earthquake update to be followed by a
tour of the affected areas.
The Mayor noted a proclamation of the Existence of a
Disasterproclaimed on October 17, 1989 by Director of Emergency
Services Baksa.

Resolution No. 89-56 Confirming the Existence of a Disaster
Commencing on or about 5:04 p.m., October 17, 1989 was presented.
Motion was made by Councilman Palmer lee seconded by
Councilman Kloecker that the reading of Resolution No. 89-56 be
waived and that it be adopted.

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY CONFIRMING
EXISTENCE OF A DISASTER IN THE CITY OF GILROY.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of October, 1989 by the
