The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag at 7:01
p.m.
The City Clerk reported that the Agenda had been posted on
July 18, 1990 at 6:08 p.m.
Present: Councilmembers: Donald F. Gage, Leonard A. Hale,
Paul V. Kloecker, Larry Mussallem, Sara C. Nelson and Roberta H.
Hughan. Absent: Councilmember: Pete Valdez, Jr.
The Mayor stated that the Special Meeting was called to
discuss and take action on membership on the Gilroy Public
Participation Project (aka Gilroy 2000) Steering Committee and
presented the following for said appointment: Jack Pate,
Chairperson; Edwin Diaz, Jr.; J. Chris Dowell; Tim Filice; Joan
Harrison; Jeff Martin; Mike Monroe; Herb Peckham; John Perez; Aldo
Viarengo; Eleanor Villarreal; and Dee Wischmann.
Discussion was had on the Mayor's recommendation.
At 7:02 p.m. Councilman Valdez entered and took his seat at
the Council table.
Motion was made by Councilman Kloecker seconded by Council-
man Valdez and carried that the Mayor's recommendation for member-
ship on the Gilroy Public Participation Project Steering Committee
be approved as presented. Councilmembers Mussallem and Nelson
voted "no" on the motion.
The Mayor noted that the first meeting of the Committee has
been scheduled for August 7, 1990 with David Jones, Facilitator,
time and location to be determined.
Council requested that they be informed of the Committee
Meetings, Minutes and Progress Update.
At 7:06 p.m. the Mayor adjourned the meeting.
