The city clerk noted that the Agenda had been posted on september 21, 1995 - 8:40 a.m. Present: councilmembers: K. A. Mike Gilroy, Paul v. Kloecker, Charles s. Morales, connie Rogers, suellen C. Rowlison, Pete valdez, Jr. and Donald F. Gage~ 7:00 p.m. The Mayor presented the volunteers of the Month Award for september, 1995 to: Elders Bob cornell, Lamont Holm, Bret Jones, Adam Ferre, vincent Merrill and Dan otteson. Motion was made by councilman Kloecker, seconded by council- man valdez that the following items under the Consent calendar, be approved by the following Roll call Vote: Ayes: Councilmembers: K. A. Com. 9-7-95 Housing Task Force N.Forest st. 6705 Minutes of the Regular Council Meetings of september 5th and 18, 1995. At 7:10 p.m. the Police Department presented their Depart- mental Rep~rt. The Mayor reconvened the meeting at 8:10 p.m. continued the Public Hearing on a General Plan Text Amend- ment to amend the City's General plan Document, section III, Natural Environment - policies - Noise, for the purpose of modify- ing acceptable sound level limits and setting forth the required location of measurement to october 16, 1995, GPA 95-04, city of Gilroy, applicant. (Planning commission continued their hearing to october 5, 1995.) An ordinance of the city of Gilroy rezoning from R1-single Family to R1/R3 PUD Single Family/Medium Density Residential Dis~ trict on approximately 12.45 acres, APN 790-04-039 and 046 (south County Housing, applicant, Z 95-07 was noted. (Public Hearing held 12-19-94; ordinance approving rezoning not finalized.) Motion was made by councilman Gilroy seconded by councilman Kloecker and unanimously ordered the ordinance be read by title only and waived further reading of the ordinance. The Clerk read the title of the rdinance. Motion was made by councilman Kloecker seconded by council- man Valdez and carried that the ordinance approving the rezoning of Z 94-07 be introduced and published by title and summary. Ms. Paula Gann, Executive Director of Discover Alternatives addressed the council and explained and distributed statistical information regarding domestic violence calls and requested Coun- cil attend the Domestic Violence conference october 20-21, 1995. The Mayor aoppointed councilmembers Rowlison, Gilroy and Valdez as a Task Force to work with Paula Gann and report back to council. councilmembers Valdez and Rowlison indicated that they would attend the conference on Domestic Violence. The following informational items were noted with no separate discussion on same: customer service: Inter-office Memo In Appreciation of Administrative secretary~ Proclamations Issued by Mayor Gage: Acknowledgment of Jackie Keith's Retirement, Nutrition site Manager at the Gilroy senior center; and Disability Awareness Month - October, 1995. The Report of the Planning commission Meeting of september 7, 1995 was noted. The Minutes of the Housing Element Implementation Task Force Meeting of september 14, 1995 were noted. city Administrator Baksa presented information regarding council recommendation on appointment of a representative to the council on Aging, noting it would be a three year term, one meeting per month and applicant to be over sixty years of age, preferably a resident of the city. city Administrator Baksa noted the city Hall landscape project nearing completion and an Open House would be scheduled sometime in the spring. The City Attorney reported that the delinquent assessments on North Forest street to be paid and foreclosure would not be necessary. The Mayor noted a Fund Raiser event at the I.O.O.F. Building september 30 to support the Children'S Home; tickets available from him or councilmembers Gilroy and Valdez. 6706 Adjrnmt. The Mayor noted the following meetings/events: Joint Gilroy city council/Unified school District Board of Education Liaison Committee Meeting, september 27, 1995 - 5:30 p.m., council Chambers; and League of california cities Annual conference october 22-24, 1995, San Francisco, noting a Display Booth scheduled at the League to be arranged by the visitors' Bureau. city Administrator Baksa noted a workshop to be scheduled at the senior center on the concepts of RDO. The Mayor noted the super Heroes Day Parade october 7, 1995. At 8:50 p.m. the Mayor adjourned the meeting.
