Minutes 1995/10/02 670G Invocation posting Agenda Roll call Consent calendar Budget Surp. Equip. Bids Regular Meeting october 2, 1995 Gilroy, California The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Father Jim wilson, st. stephen's Episcopal Church gave the Invocation. The city Clerk noted that the Agenda had been posted on september 28, 1995 - 9:30 a.m. Present: councilmembers: K. A. Mike Gilroy, Paul v. Kloecker, Charles s. Morales, Connie Rogers, Suellen c. Rowlison, Pete valdez, Jr. and Donald F. Gage~ 7:00 p.m. Motion was made by councilman Gilroy, seconded by councilman Kloecker that the following items under the Consent calendar, be approved by the following Roll call Vote: Ayes: Councilmembers: K. A. Mike Gilroy, Paul v. Kloecker, charles S. Morales, connie Rogers, Suellen c. Rowlison, Pete valdez, Jr. and Donald F. Gage~ Approved Budget Amendments/Transfers as recommended~ and Declared certain equipment surplus as recommended. city Administrator Baksa presented and explained a recommendation to award the bid of shield & Harper Inc. for the equipment procurement portion of the bid for the underground Diesel and Gasoline Fuel Tank Removal, Installation and Dispensing project (95-AS-428) in the amount of $55,774. and to Petrotek for the balance of the project in the amount of $141,325.00. Motion was made by councilman Kloecker seconded by council- woman Rowlison and carried that the bid of Shield & Harper Inc. for the equipment procurement portion of the bid for the under- ground Diesel Gasoline Fuel Tank Removal, Installation and Dispensing project (95-AS-428) in the amount of $55,774 be awarded and to petrotek for the balance of the project in the amount of $141,325 as recommended. Motion was made by councilman Kloecker seconded by council- man Morales that the reading of Resolution No. 95-69 be waived and that it be adopted in support of the League of california cities resolution re: sales tax redistribution to increase the amount received by cities to 2%. RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 69 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY SUPPORTING THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES' RESOLUTION ON SALES TAX REDISTRIBUTION TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT RECEIVED BY CITIES TO 2%. The city Attorney reported on the Court decision in regard to Measure A and noted the Court opinion available for council. The Mayor requested councilmembers interested in assisting with registering electorates to contact him. Councilwoman Rowlison gave an update on Joint Ventures of Silicon Valley. Councilman Morales noted that a presentation is forthcoming from the Local Veterans Post 6309 regarding a monument for those who served in the Armed Forces. 6708 Adjrnmt. councilman Kloecker noted the Santa clara county cities Association selection committee is seeking a representative to serve on the Haz Mat committee to represent south County and will meet every 6 weeks/2 months and to let him know if anyone is interested in this appointment. councilman Gilroy noted a complaint from Falcon cable TV customer noting same referred to Public Information coordinator McCann. councilman Gilroy requested additional information in regard to the 48% increase in Domestic violence cases.
