Minutes 2006/12/04 Presentations by members of the public for items not on the agenda, but within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. There were no presentations by the public. Mayor Pinheiro presented the Team of the Month Award to Corporal Rosa Quinones, Police Officer Mitch Madruga (not present), Police Officer Frank Bozzo (not present), Police Officer Michael Beebe (not present), CSO Kim Sullivan, CSO Angela Locke- Paddon, CSO Maria Cabatingan, CSO Maribel Gutierrez, and CSO Nancy Sanchez- Clark. Presentations & Proclamations Mayor Pinheiro presented the Employee Award for the Month of November, 2006 to Scott Barron, Code Enforcement Officer, Community Development Department. Introductions The following new employees were introduced: Casey Main, Firefighter/Paramedic I, Fire Department; Shari Carlet, Engineer I, Community Development Department; Lisa Moreno, Engineering Technician/Inspector I, Community Development Department; and Anna Jatczak, Assistant City Administrator, Administration. Mayor Pinheiro announced that City employee Cydney Casper was killed in an accident over the weekend, asked for a minute of silence for her, and stated that this meeting would be adjourned in her memory. Mayor Pinheiro led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Regular Meeting December 04-2006 Gilroy, California 8585 8586 Consent Calendar Motion was made by Councilman Arellano, seconded by Councilman Correa and carried to approve the Consent Calendar. Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of November 20,2006. Recommendation to declare equipment as surplus. Bids and Proposals Police Department Recommendation to award the bid for a Staffing Study for the Gilroy Police Department and 911 Center (07-RFQ-PD-302) to Matrix Consulting Group in the amount of$55,000.00. Oshan, Michael A continued Public Hearing on a Zone Change request from R3 (Medium Density Residential) to R3-PUD (Medium Density Residential-Planned Unit Development), located at 620 Broadway Street. Councilman Arellano disclosed that he met with the applicant who gave him information on the balconies. Motion was made by Councilman Arellano, seconded by Mayor Pinheiro and carried (Council members Bracco, Gartman, and Valiquette voting no) to direct staff to prepare an ordinance approving Z 06-12. Mayor's Report Mayor Pinheiro distributed information regarding placing a resolution on the next Council agenda regarding Highway 156/Highway 152/Highway 25 traffic issues.
