RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMENDING
THE CIRCULATION ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY
OF GILROY AND ELIMINATING PLAN LINES FOR A PROPOSED "s"
CURVE CONNECTION BETWEEN CHESTNUT STREET AND MURRAY AVENUE.

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy has

heretofore held hearings in accordance with law upon a proposal to
modify the Circulation Element of the General Plan for the City of
Gilroy and plan lines associated therewith, and has made its report
to the Council of said City of Gilroy in which it recommended Ithat
the plan lines for the "S" curve connecting Chestnut Street and
Murray Avenue north of Lewis Street be modified; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of
California, the Council of the City of Gilroy has heretofore fixed
the 4th day of April, 1977, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the
Council Chambers in the City Hall, GilroYl California, as the time
and place for hearing the said report and recommendation of said
planning commission, notice of said hearing has been given in accordance
with law and the Ordinances of the City of Gilroy, and the Council
now having proceeded to the hearing of said report and recownendation
and continued it to this date, and having duly considered the same
and deteI~ined that the proposed connection between Chestnut Street
and Murray Avenue is ~o longer necessary because of the freeway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Circulation Element of
the General Plan for the City of Gilroy be and the same is hereby
amended and modified by eliminating the proposed "S'I curve connection
between Chestnut Street and Murray Avenue north of Lewis Street and
by eliminating the plan lines associated therewith.
