RESOLUTION NO. 78- 21
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY WITHDRA\rJING FROM THE
GILROY RURAL FIRE DISTRICT TERRITORY THEREIN RECENTLY ANNEXED TO THE
CITY OF GILROY UNDER THE DESIGNATION "MONTEREY NORTHWEST ANNEXATION
77-8 TO THE CITY OF GILROY".
WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 20th day of
March, 1978, been annexed to the City of Gilroy, under the designa-
tion of "MONTEREY NORTill\TEST ANNEXATION 77-8 TO THE CITY OF GILROY".
the following described property located in the County of Santa
Clara, State of California to wit:
BEING a portion of Las Animas Ranch Lot No. 25 as shown
on Map No. 7 accompanying the Final Report of the Referees
in the Las Animas Rancho Partition Suit, Action No. 5536
had in the Superior Court of the State of California, in
and for the County of Santa Clara, and being more particu-
larly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeasterly corner of the Fifth
Northern Addition to the City of Gilroy as described
in Ordinance Number 708 of said City adopted Septem-
ber 3, 1963, said point of beginning being in the
northeasterly line of the lands of the Southern
Pacific Company, and running thence along the north-
erly line of said Fifth Northern Addition S. 890 39'
W. 785.89 feet, more or less, to an angle point in
the boundary of said Addition; thence along the
northeasterly line of said Fifth Northern Addition
N. 220 17' W. 483.68 feet to a northeasterly corner
of said Addition in the southerly boundary of the
Monterey Northwest Addition No. 65-3 to the City of
Gilroy as described in Ordinance No. 758 adopted
November 3, 1965; thence along the southerly boundary
of said Annexation N. 890 35' E. 597.81 feet to the
southeasterly corner of said Annexation being also
the southwesterly corner of Monterey Northwest No.
65-4 Annexation to the City of Gilroy as described
in Resolution No. 988 of said City adopted January
21, 1966; thence along the southerly boundary of
said Annexation N. 880 35' E. 187.35 feet, more or
less, to the southeasterly corner thereof in the
northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific Company;
thence along the northeasterly line of the Southern
Pacific Company S. 220 19' 30" E. 484.80 feet, more
or less, to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 8.157 acres, more or less, and

1.JHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy
were at the time of such annexation, included in and formed a part
of the Gilroy Rural Fire District, and the Council of the City of
Gilroy desires that said territory so annexed be withdra~m from said
fire protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that said territory herein-
before described and so annexed to the City of Gilroy as "MONTEREY
NORTHWEST ANNEXATION 77-8 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" be and the same is
hereby withdrawn from said Gilroy Rural Fire District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of March, 1978, by the
following vote:

LINK, PATE, STOUT and GOODRICH.
