RESOLUTION NO. 78-71
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY WITHDRAWING FROM THE
GILROY RURAL FIRE DISTRICT TERRITORY THEREIN RECENTLY ANNEXED TO THE
CITY OF GILROY UNDER THE DESIGNATION "LEAVESLEY NO. 4 ANNEXATION 78-5
TO THE CITY OF GILROY".
WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 18th day of
September, 1978, been annexed to the City of Gilroy, under the desig-
nation of "LEAVESLEY NO. 4 ANNEXATION 78-5 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the
following described property located in the County of Santa Clara,
State of California to wit:
BEGINNING at an old 4" by 4" post, the common corner to
Lots land 4 of the Elizabeth H. Martin Tract being part
of the John Gilroy Portion of the Rancho San Ysidro,
which Map was filed for record in the office of the Re-
corder of Santa Clara County California in Book F of
Maps at page 31 therein; thence along the line between
said lots 1 and 4, N. 580 33' 05" E., 892.69 feet (being
also the Gilroy City Limits line as established by the
"Leavesley No.3 Annexation 78-1") thence S. 310 26' 55"
E., 863.02 feet more or less to the northerly line of
Gilman Road; thence along said northerly line of Gilman
Road the following courses and distances: S. 640 20' 20"
W., 207.25 feet to
the point of tangency with a 1000 foot radius curve
to the right; thence along said curve through a
central angel of 210 46' 54" an arc length of 380.l6
feet; thence S. 860 07' 14" W., 383.02 feet to the
point of tangency with a 700 foot radius curve to
the left; thence along said 700 foot radius curve
through a central angle of 120 35' 38" an arc length
of 153.86 feet to the point of
intersection with the easterly Right of Way of the South
Valley Freeway (U.S. 101); thence along said easterly
Right of '\Jay line N. 220 51' 07" W., 691.89 feet to the
point of intersection with the boundary of said "Leaves-
ley No.3 Annexation 78-1"; thence along last said boundary
N. 56047' 26" E., 54.80 feet and S. 31026' 55" E., 185.17
feet to the point of beginning and
CONTAINING THEREIN 17.32 acres of land more or less, and
WHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy
were at the time of such annexation, included in and formed a part of

the Gilroy Rural Fire District, and the Council of the City of Gilroy
desires that said territory so annexed be withdrawn from said fire
protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT P~SOLVED, that said territory herein-
before described and so annexed to the City of Gilroy as "LEAVESLEY
NO. 4 ANNEXATION 78-5 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" be and the same is hereby
withdrawn from said Gilroy Rural Fire District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of September, 1978, by
