State of Emergency Resolution No. 86-12 RESOLUTION NO. 86 - 12 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILr~OY CO:-iFIRt~ING EXISTENCE OF A DISASTER. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 75-18 of the City of Gilroy empo~ers the Director of E~ergency Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a disaster when said City is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the Council is not in session, subject to confirmation by the Council at the earliest prac- ticable time; and WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property arose within this City, caused by flood, commencing on or about 8:00 o'clock p.m., on the 17th day of February, 1986, at which time the Council of the City of Gilroy was not in session; and ~VHEREAS, said Council does hereby find that the aforesaid conditions of extre~e peril did warrant and necessitate the proclama- tion of the existence of a disaster; and ~mEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services or the City of Gilroy did proclaim the existence of a disaster within said City on the 17th day of February, 1986. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that the Proclamation or Existence of a Disaster, as issued by said Director of Emergency Services, is hereby confirmed by the Council of the City of Gilroy; and IT IS FURTHER PROCLAI}~D AND ORDERED that said disaster shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the Council of the City of Gilroy, State of California. Now, ~herefore, i~ is herehy proclaimeD anD orDereD that a copy of this proclamation be forwarded through the state Director of the Office of Emergency Services to the Governor of California with the request that he proclaim the City of Gilroy to be in a state of emergency; and I~ is resolveD that Cecil A.
