Agricultural Preserve
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNl'~ OF SANTA CLARA RELATING
TO THE CITY OF GILROY TRANSITION ZONE
AND THE AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE OF COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County has
been discussing the establishment of a permanent agricultural pre-
serve in south Santa Clara valley for the purpose of encouraging
and fostering agricultural uses; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has also established a
policy designed to encourage and enable the cities in the South
County to plan the ultimate use of land not only within the city
boundaries, but within the area known as the Transition Zone; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to express its in-
tent and policy with respect to the Transition Zone of the City of
Gilroy,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Santa Clara hereby expresses its intent not to in-
clude in any permanent agricultural preserve to be established, any
of the land in the City of Gilroy Transition Zone, so that the
ultimate use of the City of Gilroy Transition Zone will be planned
by that city.
