AMENDED RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF COUNTY
OF SANTA CLAR~ DETERMINING THAT A PROPOSED STREET BE MADE
A COm~TY HIGHWAY WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY -- SUBSTITUTING
A NE~v PLAN NAP AS "EXHIBIT A-I" REVISED AUGUST 20, 1970
WHEREAS, on Nay 19, 1970, the Santa Clara County ~.oard of
Supervisors has heretofore adopted a Resolutioncetermining that a
proposed street (Santa Teresa Expressway) be made a County Highway
within the City of Gilroy, said Resolution incorporating the route
of the Santa Teresa Expressway as shown on the plan map marked
"Exhibit Art and attached thereto; and
WHEREAS, it has been found necessary to alter the alignment
and width of said proposed expressway at certain points between
Thomas Road and Hecker Pass Highway as shown on the attached plan
map bearing "revisi.on in, 8-20-70" (Exhibit "A-I"); and
WdEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy has hereto-
fore formally consented to the relinquishment of that portion of
the expressway within the Gilroy city limits, as shown on
Exhibit "A" attached to Resolution ff1466 adopted by the Gilroy
City Council on May 18, 1970; and
,~EREAS, Santa Teresa Expressway is located partly within the
limits of the City of Gilroy and partly within the unincorporated
territory of the County of Santa Clara; and
~VHEREAS, it is of general County interest that Santa Teresa
Expressway within the City of Gilroy be relinquished to the County
of Santa Clara; and
~~EREAS, it is necessary that a portion of the Santa Teresa
Expressway be established on new alignment within the City of
Gilroy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Santa Clara County
Board of Supervisors, acting pursuant to the authority of Article
5, (commencing with Section 1720), Chapter 9, Division 2 of the
Streets and Highways Code, that it does hereby determine tbat it

such consent be evicenced by appropriate resolution of the City of
Gilroy adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 5, Chapter 9,
Division 2 of the Streets anc Highways Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Boare of
Supervisors is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the City Council of the City of Gilroy.
