A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GILROY ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY AND
NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION COMMITTEE
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Gilroy wishes to create an Advisory
Committee of members of the public to provide recommendations and input in the
processes of administering Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Housing
Trust Fund (HTF) awards through the City of Gilroy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Gilroy does hereby establish the Community and Neighborhood Revitalization
Committee ( "Committee ") consisting of seven (7) members. The members of the
Committee shall be appointed by the City Council, and shall serve for a term of four (4)
years, or until their respective successors are qualified and appointed. No person shall
serve more than two (2) consecutive full terms on the Committee.
The members first appointed to the Committee shall be so classified that three (3)
member's term shall expire in two (2) years, on January first. The terms of the remaining
four (4) members shall expire in four (4) years, on January first. Their successors
thereafter shall be appointed for a full term.
Each January the Committee shall select one of its members to serve as Chair who shall
preside over the meeting.
The Committee may hold meetings during key months of the cyclical process to include
February, March, August and November and during other months as the Committee may
require, or as otherwise determined by the Committee or City Council from time to time.
The Committee will have the duty to:
(a) Act in an advisory capacity to the Housing and Community Development
Division of the Community Development Department in matters pertaining to
CDBG and HTF funding allocations; and

(b) Study the needs of the Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy area; and
c) Annually recommend allocations of CDBG and HTF program funding awards
that are forwarded to the City Council for approval; and
(d) Perform such other duties related to CDBG and HTF matters as may be
proscribed by the City Council.

meeting duly held on the 22nd day of September, 2014 by the following roll call vote:
