Minutes 2015/01/05City of Gilroy City Council Meeting Minutes January 5. 2015 A. Call to Order Mayor Gage called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was led by Council Member Bracco. The invocation was given by Pastor Malcolm McPhail. Roll Call Present: Council Member Terri Aulman; Council Member Dion Bracco; Council Member Peter Leroe- Munoz; Council Member Roland Velasco; Council Member Cat Tucker; Mayor Pro Tempore Perry Woodward; Mayor Don Gage City Clerk Shawna Freels announced that the agenda had been posted on December 31, 2014 at 10:15 a.m. B. Orders of the Day There were no agenda changes. C. Introductions Public Works Director Smelser introduced newly hired employees Operations Services Supervisor Bill Avila and Engineer I David Monigold. Chief Turner introduced newly hired Police Department staff Public Safety Communicator Maggie Russell and Police Officer Julio Romero. 11. CEREMONIAL ITEMS A. Proclamations, Awards and Presentations There were none. 111. PRESENTATIONS TO COUNCIL A. PUBLIC COMMENT BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA, BUT WITHIN THE SUBJECT MATTER JURISDICTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL Richard Nava rette-Vil la I ba was called to speak sharing his concerns with hate crime activities taking place at his home on 7th and Church Streets explaining that he was dissatisfied with the police department as they would not file a police report. Sharon McKeegan was called to speak asking that the City Council agendize the pet licensing issue to provide an exception for pets which were kept indoors, and. explaining that she had received a charge for a late fee from the city. She then asked the city to consider bringing the licensing services into California instead of outsourcing to Texas. B. Annual Presentation by the Personnel Commission The presentation was given by Commissioner De Lorenzo. IV. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS City Council Meeting Minutes 1/5/2015 2 There were none. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Gage announced that Jack Foley had submitted a letter of resignation from the Open Government Commission and the recruitment would be opened to fill the open seat. V.
