Minutes 2015/11/02City of Gilroy City Council Meeting Minutes November 2, 2015 I. OPENING . A. Call to Order Mayor Gage called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Leroe- Munoz. The Invocationl,was given by Ruth Brenton of the Bahai Faith Community. City Clerk Shawna Freels announced that the agenda had been posted on October 28, 2015 at 1:25 p.m. Roll Call Present: Council Member Terri Aulman; Council Member Dion Bracco; Council Member Peter Leroe- Munoz; Council Member Cat Tucker; Council Member Roland Velasco; Mayor Pro Tempore Perry Woodward; Mayor Don Gage B. Orders of the Day There were no agenda changes. C. Employee Introductions City Clerk Freels announced newly hired Office Assistant Jude Miranda. Chief Turner introduced newly hired Police Officers Dale Fors, Alex Fernandez - Zamora, and Christopher Silva. Public Works Director Smelser introduced newly hired Engineer Christine Solmo Community Development Director Abrams introduced newly hired Office Assistant Georgina Sanchez. II. CEREMONIAL ITEMS A. Proclamations, Awards and Presentations There were none. Interviews A. Interview for One (1) Open Seat on the High Speed Rail Station Planning Advisory Committee The Council interviewed Craig Morris. III. PRESENTATIONS TO COUNCIL A. PUBLIC COMMENT BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA, BUT WITHIN THE SUBJECT MATTER JURISDICTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL There were none. B. Arts and Culture Commission Annual Presentation to the City Council City Council Meeting Minutes 11/2/2015 2 The presentation was given by Chairperson Scarriot. C. Open Government Commission Annual Presentation to the City Council The presentation was given by Chairperson Glines. IV. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS Council Member Tucker announced that the last GPAC meeting had been held on Thursday, explaining that the remaining items of the group had all been dealt with. Council Member Velasco announced that at the recent Water District meeting a youth stewardship commission had been established and the District was interested in having a member of the Gilroy Youth Commission participate on the stewardship commission. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Gage announced that the EDC Board would be holding their annual retreat on November 15th; that SCRWA would be meeting on Wednesday and that the URM Task Force report would be presented later in the meeting.
