Call to Order Mayor Woodward called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Bracco. The agenda was posted on May 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Roll Call Present: Council Member Dion Bracco; Mayor Pro Tempore Leroe- Munoz; Council Member Cat Tucker; Council Member Roland Velasco; Mayor Perry Woodward Absent/Excused: Council Member Terri Aulman; Council Member Daniel Harney Mayor Woodward explained that Council Member Aulman was ill and would not be attending the meeting. Mayor Woodward then announced that Council Member Harney and his wife had their baby earlier in the day. B. Orders of the Day There were no agenda changes. C. Employee Introductions Chief Turner introduced newly hired public safety communicator Amanda Marciel. II. CEREMONIAL ITEMS A. Proclamations, Awards and Presentations Mayor Woodward presented a Proclamation naming the month of May Bicycle Awareness Month. Mayor Woodward presented a Proclamation for Police Memorial Week. Mayor Woodward presented a Proclamation naming May 13th -May 20th Affordable Housing Week. Mayor Woodward presented a Proclamation naming the Month of May Lupus Awareness Month. INTERVIEWS A. Interviews for One (1) Open Seat on the Personnel Commission The Council interviewed the candidates. III. PRESENTATIONS TO COUNCIL A. PUBLIC COMMENT BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA, BUT WITHIN THE SUBJECT MATTER JURISDICTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL City Council Meeting Minutes 5/16/2016 There were none. IV. REPORTS OF COUNCIL MEMBERS Mayor Pro Tempore Leroe -M0oz spoke on the general membership meeting of the Cities Association of Santa Clara County sharing the discussions of regional problems with transportation, and a proposed ballot measure in November to address the issues. He then thanked the Mayor for the opportunity to join members of the U.S. Woman's Open during their practice rounds. Mayor Woodward shared his participation in the walk, bike and roll event at Las Animas school and then spoke on the Caltrain ridership growth of 83 %. He shared the possibility of a book store moving into the downtown Gilroy and described the Mobility Partnership meeting the previous week and goals in addressing the 25/152/101 highway issues. He concluded by sharing information on future funding for 1 st street repairs. V. FUTURE COUNCIL INITIATED AGENDA ITEMS There were none. VI. CONSENT CALENDAR A.
